Notice: Police to Conduct Security Exercise Thursday in Falls Church

Officers will not be using live ammunition, but they might use realistic-looking training weapons that shoot paint projectiles.

The City of Falls Church Police Department will conduct a training exercise today (Thursday) between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Lea Court in Falls Church, according to a spokeswoman. Residents in the area have been notified by the city of the exercise.

The exercise will simulate a high-risk search warrant. Officers will not be using live ammunition, but they might use realistic-looking training weapons that shoot paint projectiles. Noise flash diversionary devises may also be utilized.

The exercise is being conducted for the safety of city officers when they are in real-world situations, the spokeswoman noted.
