Fairfax County Police detectives have charged Jabar Medley, 21, of Oxon Hill, Md. with eight counts of assault and battery, according to a news release from FCPD.
Police identified the suspect on May 6, after a series of three separate assault incidents took place that night in the Seven Corners area, police said.
In each of the cases, the suspect approached and grabbed the victims from behind. Patrol officers came across the man who matched the description in the shopping center parking lot, and charged him with one count that night. Additional charges were placed Tuesday.
The series of fondling incidents took place between March 22 and April 19 in the Bailey’s Crossroads area of Fairfax County.
Police said at the time that the suspect "acts quickly and victims have been unable to identify many details, however due to the high density population along the busy Route 7 and 50 corridor, detectives believe there may be witnesses who haven’t come forward."
Detectives said at the time that they believed a male suspect may be responsible for seven forcible fondling incidents, taking place in busy shopping centers in the area.
Police said that the suspect approached victims from behind, fondles and grabs the buttocks or crotch area and flees. None of the victims were physically injured and there were no words exchanged. The incidents took place in the afternoon or early evening, between 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Victims are all female, between the ages of 20 and 40.
