Police Identify Suspect In Serial Butt Stabbings

Police believe man may have already left Northern Virginia

The Fairfax County Police Department says it has identified a 40-year-old man as a suspect in one of the serial butt stabbings that began in Northern Virginia retail stories in February.

Police obtained a warrant for Johnny D. Guillen Pimentel, 40, based on a tip they received, the department said in a release today. But detectives believe Guillen Pimentel may have already left the area.

Pimentel may be driving a blue 2003 Honda Civic with Virginia license plates reading KLX2689. Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine whether additional charges will be placed, they said in a statement.

In August, police set up an internal task force to search for suspects connected with the assaults, similar to the strategy it used to find the suspect in last year's serial burglaries.

A total of nine known cases have been reported to police to date, detailed in a list of incidents on the department's homepage. The last known assault was July 25 at Forever 21 in Fair Oaks mall.
