Former Teacher Investigated Following Molestation Accusation

Teacher taught at the former Whittier Middle School, now Falls Church High School in late 1960s, early '70s.

Fairfax County Police are looking into allegations that a former teacher at then-Whittier Junior High molested a 13-year-old male student back in the late 1960s to early 1970s, according to a story in the Huffington Post.

The teacher, Robert Miller, reportedly worked at the school during that time.

Miller, now a music professor at the University of Connecticut, has been placed on paid leave from the school while police and university officials look into more allegations of sexual misconduct with university students. He is also being investigated for claims that he inappropriately touched four boys ages 10 to 13 at a summer camp, the Huffington Post reported.

Miller, 66, is also being accused of molesting a male student in Northern Virginia when the student was 13 at the former Whittier Intermediate School, which is now Falls Church High School. Miller taught there in the late 1960s and early 1970s, according to Connecticut state police.

Officer Eddy Azcarate, a spokesman for Fairfax County police, confirmed to the Huffington Post that FCPD is investigating the allegations involving Miller.

State police told the news site said the statute of limitations has expired in the Connecticut case but not for the allegations in Virginia.

Officials from the University of Connecticut released a timeline of events saying that the School of Fine Arts received an email and letter in December 2011 claiming that Miller was a pedophile, according to KIRO-TV.

Police in Connecticut say the accuser in Virginia sent the email and letter.
