POLICE LOG: Man Charged With Firing Gun in a Building

The Falls Church police department supplied the following incident and arrest information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A City of Falls Church man was charged with reckless handling of a firearm after discharging his gun in a home, according to the Falls Church police department.

Police charged Boris J. Zajac, 66, with the crime in the 600 block of Roosevelt Blvd. on Dec. 28.

Police said no one was injured in the incident and would not say if the discharge was a mistake or if Zajac meant to fire the weapon.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Humberto C. Zapata, 46, of Sterling, was charged with a noise violation after picking up trash after hours in the 1100 block of W. Broad St. around 5:15 a.m. on Dec. 28.

Kelvin G. Henry, 48, of no fixed address, was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana in the 200 block of Gordon Rd. on Dec. 28.

Marvin E. Weaver, Jr., 50, of no fixed address, was charged with public drunkenness in the 1000 block of E. Broad St. on Dec. 29.

William A. Weinischke, 62, of Bethesda, Md., was charged with driving under the influence in the 200 block of N. Washington St. on Dec. 29.

Michael P. Dostie, 25, of Centreville, was charged with driving under the influence in the 1300 block of S. Washington St. on Dec. 30.

John O. Connington, 60, of Falls Church, was charged with panhandling in the 1000 block of E. Broad St. on Dec. 31.
