Police Looking for Suspect in Afternoon Stabbing in Falls Church

Witnesses gave conflicting descriptions of the alleged attacker, victim stabbed in hand.

One man was stabbed in the hand and his alleged attacker is on the run after an altercation in Falls Church Tuesday afternoon.

Amy Betor, a spokeswoman for the City of Falls Church, said the two men were in an altercation around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Grove Avenue and the W & OD Trail. It’s unclear what the altercation was about, Betor said, but the injured man was taken to the hospital in a private car.

Betor said witnesses gave conflicting descriptions of the alleged attacker and the direction he fled.

John W. Brett, spokesman for Falls Church City Public Schools, said George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School delayed their dismissals as a precaution until city police cleared them to do so. Brett said the schools were able to release students around 3:25 p.m. when police gave them the go-ahead.
