Police: Man Reportedly Touched, Photographed Under Woman’s Skirt

Fairfax County police are looking for a man who is reported to have inappropriately touched then possibly took a photo underneath a woman’s skirt at a Falls Church department store in June.

On Tuesday, June 19 just before 8 p.m., a 38 year-old Arlington woman allegedly felt someone touch her underneath her skirt near the back of her thigh inside the  store at 5115 Leesburg Pike, Officer Don Gotthardt said. When the woman abruptly turned, she reported seeing what appeared to be a flash from a camera, Gotthardt said.

“She was in there shopping and she felt something and he jumped up and ran off,” Gotthardt said.

Gotthardt said the woman immediately reported the incident to a security officer in the store. Gotthardt noted that the woman did the right thing by going to a security officer immediately and not waiting.

Police were able to get a photo of the man from a surveillance camera in the store. The man is believed to be between 25 to 35 years old, Hispanic and between 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall, Gotthardt said. The man may be between 155 and 170 pounds. He has dark hair and was wearing light-colored slacks, a light-colored shirt and white shoes. Gotthardt said the man was last seen getting into the passenger side of a white box truck.
