Police Seek Serial Fondler Striking Bailey's Crossroads Area

At least seven incidents reported in busy shopping areas.

A series of fondling incidents in the Bailey's Crossroads area has Fairfax County police asking for help.

The incidents took place between March 22 and April 19. The suspect acts quickly and victims have been unable to identify many details, so detectives are hoping the high-density of traffic in the area may mean witnesses will come forward.

Detectives believe a male suspect may be responsible for seven forcible fondling incidents, taking place in busy shopping centers in the area, according to a news release from the department.

The suspect approaches victims from behind, fondles and grabs the buttocks or crotch area and flees. None of the victims have been physically injured and there are no words exchanged. The incidents occur in the afternoon or early evening, between 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Victims are all female, between the ages of 20 and 40.
