Search Continues for Suspect in Library Attack

Police say no new information in Falls Church case involving 17-year-old female victim.

Fairfax County police are still looking for a man who allegedly attacked a 17-year-old woman in the bathroom of a Falls Church library.

Police said the man had watched the woman study Nov. 6 at the Thomas Jefferson Library on Arlington Boulevard before following her into the bathroom and attacking her. The woman allegedly kicked the man and screamed and he ran off, police said.

Lucy Caldwell, spokeswoman for Fairfax County police, said police are still investigating the case.

The alleged suspect is described as black man with a medium brown complexion, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10. Police said the man weighs between 160 and 180 pounds.

Police say they believe the man has a shaved head, brown eyes, a gap in his front teeth and a diagonal scar on his forehead, police said. At the time of the incident, the man wore a pale green, long-sleeved, button-up shirt with khaki pants and carried a brown or tan soft leather briefcase.
