A woman walking Monday night in the Skyline area — in the 5500 block of Seminary Road — was the victim of an attempted purse-snatching, according to Fairfax County Police.

The victim was walking when she was approached from behind by two men. One suspect attempted to take the victim’s purse but the victim resisted and both suspects fled on foot.

Responding police tracked down one of the suspects, a 15-year-old Falls Church area boy, and took him into custody. The second suspect was described as black, in his teens with a thin build.

The area around Skyline Mall is dangerous after dark. Leaving the Target at night, I was followed by two youths. I ran to my car, as I got there, they were running after me. My recommendation: go to the Target on Route 50. It is only 2 miles away and the lighting is better. Avoid the Skyline area at night.

I think you should just stop shopping - period. Don't even leave the house.
