As the cool weather exits, air conditioning unit thefts in Falls Church are heating up.
There were reports of three outside air conditioning units stolen from homes in the city this month. The large units are bolted to the ground and city spokeswomen Susan Finarelli said police are actively investigating the thefts.
“Right now it's a coincidence,” Finarelli said. “There's no evidence they're connected, but it's certainly an odd coincidence.”
Two of the air conditioning units were stolen on April 2 – one in the 300 block of Poplar Dr. and the other in the 100 block of N. West St., according to a police report. Another unit was stolen April 6 in the 1100 block of W. Broad St.
Anyone with information on the thefts may call police at 703-241-5053.
