UPDATE: Dominion Restores Power to 900 Customers, 3 Intersections

Power outage caused by downed wires.

6:45 p.m. – Le-Ha Anderson, a spokeswoman for Dominion Power, said power to 900 Falls Church customers and three intersections was restored at 6:15 p.m.

Anderson said the power outage was caused by two downed wires that supplied power to two circuits.

4:52 p.m. - According to the City of Falls Church, traffic signals in three intersections are down due to a power outage.

Le-Ha Anderson, a spokeswoman with Dominion Power, said the outages were caused by two circuits that are without power because of two downed power lines. She said power should be restored to the intersections and the 900 customers without power between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

City police with help of temporary stop signs are controlling traffic.

Here are the effected intersections:

  • N. Washington Street (Lee Highway/Rt 29) and Columbia Street
  • E. Broad Street (Leesburg Pike/Rt 7) and Cherry Street
  • Hillwood Avenue and Cherry Street
