UPDATE: Would-Be Falls Church Bank Robber Caught

Fairfax County police charged a Springfield man with attempted robbery.

Fairfax County Police have charged a man who attempted to rob a Falls Church bank on June 5.

Herson Geovanne Torres, 22, of Springfield, was charged June 13 with attempted robbery, said police spokesman Officer Bud Walker. Torres was released from the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on June 15 on $3,500 bond. Torres will go before a county District Criminal Court judge on July 31, according to court records.

Torres walked into the  at 6367 Seven Corners Center June 5 around 3:05 p.m. and from a teller, police said.

Before he could get any money, Torres ran off empty-handed.

No one was injured in the botched robbery.
