WEEK IN REVIEW: Suspect in Vanessa Pham Murder Arrested

Police charged suspect in November library attack with abduction.

Julio Miguel Blanco-Garcia, 27, was arrested Thursday and will face second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of Vanessa Pham. Police said Garcia is in the country illegally.

Fairfax County police also arrested Kevin Lee Porter, the man accused of attacking a 17-year-old woman in November inside a bathroom in the Thomas Jefferson Library. Porter was charged with abduction.

A 14-year-old JEB Stuart High School student was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and reckless discharge of a weapon after Fairfax County police found him in possession of a BB gun Tuesday. No one was hurt in the incident and the student was released to his parents.
