What Was All That Smoke From Yesterday?

Smoke could be seen as far away as the District and parts of Maryland.

All that smoke visible in the sky from Falls Church on Monday was from a six six-alarm fire that sprung from a Pickett Street warehouse in Alexandria.

Multiple roads in the area around the warehouse in the 800 block of Pickett Street were closed, including Van Dorn Street between Edsall Road and Eisenhower Avenue and South Pickett Street headed westbound.

Fire operations were expected to continue into the evening. The city advises residents to avoid the area until further notice.
