Woman, 65, Stabbed in Back While Watching Fireworks in Fairfax County

Woman sustained serious injuries; suspect is described as white, 18-20, short blonde hair wearing a white tank top and shorts.

A 65-year old woman was stabbed in the back on the 4th of July while watching fireworks from a shopping center parking lot in Fairfax County and police are hoping that someone can identify the suspect.

Around 10:25 p.m. Friday, the woman was at a shopping center parking lot at 7129 Leesburg Pike, with a group of friends watching fireworks that were being set off from across the street, at George Mason High School.

An unknown male approached the woman from behind and stabbed her in the upper body, according to Fairfax County Police. The suspect fled on foot and a witness gave chase, but lost sight of him.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her serious but non life-threatening injuries. 

The suspect was described as white, possibly 18 to 20 years old, with short blonde hair. He was wearing a white tank top and shorts.
