Overnight Lane Closures on Northbound I-495  
The three right lanes of northbound I-495 (the Beltway) will close overnights from Monday-Friday 11pm- 5am for construction of the aerial bridges that will carry tracks for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project over  Beltway (I-495) at Route 123.  Drivers should expect significant delays each night.

Exit ramps from northbound I-495 to both northbound and southbound Route 123 will also close.
 
 9:30-10 pm - Crews will begin tapering for the closing of the right lane on I-495 North about a half mile before the Route 7 exit. The exit ramps at Route 7 will not be affected by rail project construction closings.

10:30 pm- Crews will begin to close the second right lane near the Route 7 bridge, and the third lane will close prior to the Route 123 interchange. The ramps to/from Route 123 also will close at this time . All lanes and exits to Route 123 will be reopened to thru traffic by 5am.

These closings will continue nightly Sundays-Fridays for the next five weeks.  Northbound thru traffic will be allowed to use the single open lane. The three lanes will re-open north of the work area.

More Beltway Lane Closings. I-495 north at Lewinsville Road Overpass

 On Friday night, March 4 and Saturday, March 5, starting at 9:30 pm, crews will close three lanes of I-495 north at the Lewinsville Road Overpass near the Dulles Toll Road. Note: After midnight, all lanes on I-495 north will close at the Lewinsville Road Overpass for up to 30 minutes at a time for bridge work. All lanes will reopen by 7 am. Saturday and 9 am Sunday.

Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south at I-495 Closing

Monday night, Feb. 28, starting at 9:30 pm. one lane will close on Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south, progressing to a full roadway closure after 10 pm. Detour: Motorists will be detoured to I-495 north to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, follow signage to I-495 south, and take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road south. All lanes will reopen by 5am This closure allows crews to install steel bridge beams.

I-495 north to Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) west

Each night, Monday, Feb. 28 through Thursday, March 3, the exit ramp from I-495 north to the Dulles Connector Road west will close overnight. Motorists will be directed to continue north on I-495 to Exit 44, Georgetown Pike (Route 193) west, follow signage to I-495 south, and take Exit 45, Dulles Toll Road west. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. This closure allows crews to install steel bridge beams.

Paving Operations to Close Westpark Drive at Leesburg Pike (Route 7)

Beginning Sunday night, Feb. 27, crews are scheduled to begin nightly paving operations at the intersection of Westpark Drive and Leesburg Pike (Route 7) in Tysons Corner.  This work will require the closure of all lanes of Westpark Drive for a 400-foot stretch north of Route 7.

Traffic from Route 7 will be detoured to Spring Hill Road, to Greensboro Drive, to access Westpark Drive. Southbound Westpark Drive traffic wishing to access Route 7 will use the reverse of that route.

This work is expected to last through the overnight hours of Saturday, March 12, though closures will not be used if work is completed before that date.
