Falls Church Government Closing at 3 p.m.

The community center is scheduled to remain open through 10 p.m.

Falls Church City government will close at 3 p.m. today.

A snow emergency has been declared in the city and while government offices will close, the Falls Church Community Center however, will stay open until 10 p.m., weather permitting.

City residents are reminded not to park along snow emergency routes. Residents parked along snow emergency routes will be ticketed and towed, said Susan Finarelli, spokeswoman for the city. The routes must be cleared for snowplows and salt trucks can clear the roads.

Here are some other snow affected changes around the city:

  • Falls Church District Courts were closed Wednesday cases will be continued to the officer's next court date. The Falls Church Sheriffs Office at the addresses currently listed with the court will notify all defendants. If you have any questions or your address has changed, please contact the Court Clerk’s Office at 703.248.5096.
  • Trash, recycling, yard waste, and special collections are rescheduled for Saturday, March 9. Please remove carts from the road so city crews can safely plow our streets. Return carts to the road after 5 p.m. on Friday or prior to 7 a.m. on Saturday.
