Falls Church Schools to Close Tuesday

No decision yet if schools will be closed Wednesday.

Falls Church Public Schools will remain closed Tuesday due to heavy rain and high winds brought by Hurricane Sandy.

John Brett, FCCPS spokesman, said the school district will evaluate things Tuesday before they decide anything about Wednesday. With this being the first time the schools have been through a storm like Sandy, Brett said they wanted to lean on the side of caution and close schools before people lost power.

City government and FCCPS schools were closed Monday. A decision on the status of city government has not been made as of yet.
