How, Where to Vote in Virginia's Democratic Primary Election

Saturday is the last day to vote in-person absentee. Find your polling place for the June 11 primary here.

With the Democratic Primary Election less than a week away, you should be making sure you have everything in order to vote next Tuesday.

Don’t worry, we’re here to help.

The registration period for the primary has closed so if you haven’t registered, it’s too late. If you aren’t sure of your registration status, you can look it up on the Virginia Election Registration Information System.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

The county lists Falls Church polling places. For City of Falls Church polling places you can visit the city's website.

You can also look up your polling place by address.

Absentee Voting

Fairfax County absentee voting is still open. The last day to vote absentee in-person will be Saturday.

Location: Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323, Fairfax, VA 22035

There will likely be traffic congestion and delays at Government Center that day due to the Celebrate Fairfax festival.Absentee voters who wish to vote on June 8 but who do not want to attend the festival should go to the "Green Gate" for parking and assistance. Parking for in-person absentee voters is available in front of the Government Center, located to the left of the main entrance of the building.

Voters who wish to avoid the activities surrounding “Celebrate Fairfax” may choose to vote absentee

  • Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The application period for mail-in absentee ballot applications has ended. All absentee ballots must be returned to the Fairfax County Office of Elections by 7 p.m. June 11.

What You’ll Need

Make sure you bring an acceptable form of identification to the polls. The following options will get you through the door:

  • Virginia voter registration card
  • Valid Virginia driver's license
  • Military ID
  • Any Federal, Virginia state or local government-issued ID
  • Employer issued photo ID card
  • Concealed handgun permit
  • Valid student ID issued by any institution of higher education located in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current utility bill, bank statement, government check or paycheck indicating the name and address of the voter
  • Social Security card (*please see below as the social security card does not satisfy special federal ID requirements)

A voter who does not bring an acceptable ID to the polls will be offered a provisional ballot.
