"My roots in the community begin with live local music in the early 1990s. Music is independent of party and musicians can be the philosophers of our time. The message I am sending through this event is: I'm approachable, relatable and interested in hearing from all voices in the community. Not everyone is interested in politics but Politicians are elected to represent all people. This is one way to reach those who are typically ignored," Howell stated in a news release announcing the performance.
