LAST CHANCE: Anglican Services End Sunday at The Falls Church

, where George Washington once worshiped, will hold its last Anglican service Sunday.

The church, one of seven congregations told by Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge Randy Bellows to give their church property to the diocese in a .

“We are equipped with the knowledge that God has great plans in store for our congregation,” the Rev. Dr. John Yates said in a written statement. “We leave without resentment or acrimony; we pray only the best for those who will follow us in our historic church, that the transforming Good News of Christ will always be proclaimed in this place.”

The Falls Church and Truro Church are two of the most famous Episcopal parishes in the country. The other five are Church of the Apostles, Fairfax; Church of the Epiphany, Herndon; St. Margaret's Church, Woodbridge; St. Paul's Church, Haymarket; St. Stephen's Church, Heathsville.

The Falls Church was established in 1732, and it is where the city it’s located got its name. The Falls Church has more than 2,000 worshippers each week and will be relocating to other locations around the area during the transition.

Registration Ends May 10 for ‘Bike to Work’ in Falls Church

If you want to participate in “Bike to Work Day 2012” along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail at Grove Ave. in the City of Falls Church May 18, registration ends May 10.

The City is one of the only local governments to offer two Pit Stop shifts: 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for the morning commute and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the ride home. The Pit Stop will be at Tricentennial Park at Grove Ave.

Riders can enjoy free food, beverages, and giveaways, along with entertainment and more. The first 11,000 bicyclists to register will receive a free t-shirt. Presenting sponsor, Bikenetic, will provide raffle items along with supporting sponsors Massage Envy and Vantage Fitness.
