In a release, city Spokeswoman Susan Finarelli said the main roads have been treated and advised motorists to use caution on side roads and parking lots.
According to the National Weather Service forecast for Falls Church, there will be light snow throughout the day before 5 p.m. when a rain and snow mix will begin.
