Nominations Sought for Grand Marshal of City of Falls Church Memorial Day Parade

The City of Falls Church is looking for a Grand Marshal for its annual Memorial Day Parade.

Nominations are due by March 4.

The Recreation and Parks Department seeks nominations for Grand Marshal of the 33rd Annual City of Falls Church Memorial Day Parade and Festival; past honorees include:

2013 - Janet Haines and Audrey Luthman
2012 – Harry Shovlin
2011 – Howard Herman
2010 – Edna Frady
2009 – Jessie Thackrey
2008 – Pete Geren
2007 – John Gannon
2006 – Roger Neighborgall
2005 – Ken Burnett
2004 – Mary Ellen Shaw

The 2014 event is scheduled for Monday, May 26. Nominees shall have made a significant contribution to the City of Falls Church community; previous Grand Marshals are not eligible for selection.

Suggestions should be submitted to Amy Maltese in the Recreation and Parks Department atamaltese@fallschurchva.gov by March 4. Please send the nominee's name and why they deserve the honor of Grand Marshal. If you have questions, please call 703-248-5199(TTY 711).
