Falls Church Made More Donations to Kaine Campaign

Tim Kaine outraised George Allen in Falls Church by more than $2,000.

The U.S. Senate race between Tim Kaine (D) and George Allen (R) is neck-and-neck both in the polls and in campaign funds raised from Virginia residents.

During the most recent filing period, which ran from May 24 to June 30, Kaine raised $667,000 in donations of $200 or more from Virginians, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, which compiles its data from OpenSecrets.org

Allen raised less, with $409,000, according to the data.

Kaine outraised Allen in Falls Church Zip codes, bringing in $14,700 compared to Allen’s $12,050.

Donors in the 22042 and 22046 gave $2,700 and $12,000 to Kaine, respectively.

Allen raised $3,750 from residents in the 22042 Zip code and $8,300 from the 22046 Zip code.

In overall fundraising, Kaine is hanging onto a narrow lead with $3.6 million compared to Allen’s $3.5 million in Virginia.
