Public Meetings Scheduled for Tysons Metrorail Access Study

Three public meetings during the week of March 21 will give residents input on projects that will facilitate pedestrian, biking and public transit access to the four new metro stations in Tysons Corner, which will be completed in 2013.

The meetings are part of the Tysons Metrorail Station Access Management Study, created by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in 2009 to develop a multi-modal access plan to the new stations, none of which will include parking.

All meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. Dates and locations include:

▪                Tuesday March 22 McLean High School Cafeteria 1633 Davidson Road, McLean

▪                Wednesday March 23 George C. Marshall High School Cafeteria 7731 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church

▪                Thursday March 24 Westbriar Elementary School Cafeteria
1741 Pine Valley Drive, Vienna

A fourth, mid-day meeting is also being planned somewhere in Tysons Corner so employees can give input as well, county staff said.

At the meetings, county staff will answer questions and give presentations about three concurrent studies that will also be used to recommend transportation improvements: the Fairfax County Transit Development Plan (TDP), the Tysons Corner Sidewalk Analysis and

A final report of recommendations will be presented to the TMSAMS Advisory Group in June. Another public meeting in July will unveil those results to residents.
