WEEK IN REVIEW: Football is Back

Get caught up on what went on in Falls Church last week.

Hurricane season has arrived and I saw some red and brown leaves on a couple local trees recently which means football season has arrived!

Last week three area high school football teams were previewed with George Marshall’s coming this week. will open their season this week against and is looking forward to getting some more wins on their record this season after a dismal 2011.

More than 1,000 had their services interrupted when a construction crew severed three underground cables in the intersection of Gallows Road and Lee Highway.

The thundered into Falls Church last week for one day to help customers with their DMV needs. The bus sat outside George Mason High Friday, taking care of just about any DMV issue customers had.

It may take some time to get the money back, but the City of Falls Church was after the Derecho that left most of Northern Virginia without power for days. The money will help offset fees spent on clean up and opening cooling centers.
