The brother and sister duo of David and Rebecca Tax, owners of Clare and Don’s Beach Shack and Mike’s Deli and Lazy Sundae, started a Clarendon tradition that’s still going on. The Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade is their creation and has grown tremendously since its inception.

Members of the Northern Virginia chapter of the National Organization of the Reform of Marijuana Laws held a meeting in Falls Church last week and the topic was legalizing marijuana in Virginia.

Chef Will Artley at Pizzeria Orso has been known to have fun and this year, he is hosting a single’s soiree at the restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Reservations are a must for the event and for $40, it’s quite a steal.

Seven-year-old Carson King was honored on National Pancake Day at a Falls Church IHOP after battling leukemia for more than three years. With his leukemia in remission, Carson and some of his classmates from Mount Daniel Elementary School enjoyed a pancake breakfast.

National Signing Day didn’t go by without a local high school student announcing where he is going to college next year. George Mason High School kicker Henry Darmstadter will be playing football at Georgetown University next season.
