What Time is the Vice Presidential Debate?

Here are details on Thursday's debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan, including where to watch the debate with other Falls Church voters.

The first and only vice presidential debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan is set for 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11. Both Republicans and Democrats in Falls Church and the surrounding areas are hosting debate watch parties. 

Falls Church Debate Watch Parties

President Barack Obama supporters are meeting at Mad Fox Brewery in Falls Church Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Mad Fox is located at 444 West Broad Street.

The Arlington-Falls Church Young Republicans are gathering at Mad Rose Tavern in Clarendon at 8 p.m. The address is 3100 Clarendon Blvd. in Arlington.

Also in Arlington, Ben Romney, one of Gov. Mitt Romney's sons, will be hosting a debate watch party at the Romney Campaign Virginia Headquarters in Arlington. He'll be at 3811 N. Fairfax Dr., Suite 750, Arlington, VA 22203. The party starts at 8 p.m.

The Arlington Young Democrats and the Arlington County Democratic Committee are joint-hosting a vice presidential debate watch party at Bailey's (near the Ballston Metro) at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Participants: Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan
Moderator: Martha Raddatz (ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent)

According to the CPD, "The debate will cover both foreign and domestic topics and be divided into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each. The moderator will ask an opening question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a discussion of the question."

According to the CPD, "The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization."
