Defending State Champs George Mason Reach VHSL Quarterfinals

Mustangs beat Clarke County 56-38 for fifth time this season.

For the fifth time this season George Mason High School beat Bull Run District foe Clarke County High but this win propelled the Lady Mustangs into the quarterfinals of the Virginia High School League State Tournament.

The Mustangs, defending state champions, defeated Clarke 56-38. Mason plays next Saturday at Robinson High School but Head Coach LaBryan Thomas wasn’t sure Saturday night when or who his team plays next.

“The win was great,” Thomas said. “We got into a little foul trouble early but we got over that.”
