Falls Church Middle School Will Re-Open Friday

Sewage system at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle repaired.

Classes will resume at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle Friday after a broken sewer line closed the school Wednesday evening and all day Thursday.

Falls Church City Public Schools hired a professional company to come in to clean and sanitize the school. School officials said seepage from the broken sewage line was contained to a small area in the basement of the school.

Officials decided to close the school Wednesday evening to repair the broken line. Students were given the day off Thursday while teachers were expected to report to George Mason High for training.

Jason-- You can certainly recycle your old TV at the semi-annual (twice-a-year) City of FallsRead More Church Recycling Extravaganza. Details are on the City's website at http://www.fallschurchva.gov/RE. The next event is Saturday, September 9. If you're hoping to recycle the TV before September, I recommend contacting eAsset Solutions, the City's partner for the Recycling Extravaganza (electronics-wise, anyway). Their website is http://www.eassetsolutions.com/. Good luck, and thanks for helping the environment! --City of Falls Church Office of Communications
