FCCPS Looking for Public Input on Construction Project

Project at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School to be completed for 2013-2014 school year.

Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS) was recently awarded a Qualified School Construction Bond (QSCAB) from the Commonwealth of Virginia. This zero-interest bond provides funds for an addition and renovation at Thomas Jefferson Elementary. The plan includes the addition of twelve classrooms, expanded cafeteria and library, renovation of old spaces including the gymnasium, and update of fire safety systems.

This project is expected to be completed for the 2013-2014 school year. Subsequently, grades will be realigned at three FCCPS schools. Thomas Jefferson Elementary will hold grades 2-5, Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School will contain grades 6-8; and George Mason High School will encompass grades 9-12.

FCCPS is looking for the public’s input through a survey.
