No injuries reported; a replacement charter bus is expected to arrive shortly.

One of two charter buses carrying George Mason High School musicians to a weekend competition in South Carolina broke down in North Carolina Thursday afternoon, according to a news release sent at 3:18 p.m. from FCCPS.

As smoke was noticed in the passenger area of the bus, the bus was evacuated and a local fire department called.

There were no injuries to any of the students nor the driver. A replacement bus is expected to arrive shortly so that the trip can continue.

Again, no one was injured. The cause of the trouble is not known.
