Jaguars Looking to Rebound After Close Loss

Falls Church area high school football teams will face tough competition this week.

After a 33-27 overtime loss last week at home to Thomas Edison High, the Falls Church Jaguars (1-3) are looking to rebound.

The Jaguars travel to Mount Vernon High (1-3) tonight, who themselves are coming off a loss last week, falling to Washington & Lee High 41-20.

Said Aziz, head coach at Falls Church, said his team learned from the mistakes in last week’s game and are ready to step on the field against Mount Vernon.

“We have to limit our mistakes, and build on the confidence we gained last week,” Aziz said. “Each week the opponents are different, so the mindset every day is get better as an individual player, and as a team.”

Three other Falls Church-area high schools will step on the gridiron tonight.

George Marshall (0-4) is at home against McLean High; JEB Stuart (1-3) travels to Yorktown High; George Mason (0-4) hits the road to Madison County High.
