LAST CHANCE: Mason Club Honoring Troops on Friday

There's still time to register before Friday for Bike to Work Day 2012.

The Young Patriots of America club at will host a barbecue at 3 p.m. Friday to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. The barbecue will be in front of the school by the flagpole.

Funds raised from the barbecue and drinks sold will be donated to the project designed to assist soldiers wounded in war. The Young Patriots will be debuting their custom built, stars and stripes “cornhole.”

"We decided on a barbecue because we saw the fundraising potential to help those who have served us” said James Hickey, president and founder of the Young Patriots at Mason. "We then decided that a bake sale wasn’t going to cut it and took it to the next level. My hope is that we can throw a great event for our school and the Falls Church community, while making a difference in the lives of our Country’s heroes."
