Poll: National District Game of the Week

Vote for the high school matchup you'd like to see featured on Patch Sept. 10 through 14

Each week, hundreds of student-athletes across the National District take the fields and courts to show off their talent and fight for a win.

But Patch wants to know which games are the must-sees for sports fans across Northern Virginia. Which truly rise above the rest?

This season, we put the ball in your court as we look for a Patch Game of the Week, featuring the game that earns the most votes at the end of each polling period.

Here's how it works:

  • Each Thursday, Patch editors will pick a handful of matchups between National District schools scheduled for the next Monday through Friday.
  • Students, parents, teachers and other community members will have five days to vote for which game should be named "Patch's Game of the Week."
  • On Monday, the game with the most votes will win special coverage.

This week, the choices are

  • Falls Church vs Washington-Lee High School field hockey (7:30 p.m. Sept. 12)
  • Mt. Vernon vs Edison High School Cross Country (5:30 p.m. Sept 12)
  • Quad Cross Country Meet: Falls Church, Hayfield, J.E.B. Stuart, Yorktown (5 p.m. Sept. 12)
  • Wakefield vs Edison High School Field Hockey (7:30 p.m. Sept. 12)

Voting begins at 5 a.m. Sept. 5 and ends at 11:59 am. Sept. 10. Only one vote per user — tell your friends and family to log on to pick their favorite, too!

Jason-- You can certainly recycle your old TV at the semi-annual (twice-a-year) City of FallsRead More Church Recycling Extravaganza. Details are on the City's website at http://www.fallschurchva.gov/RE. The next event is Saturday, September 9. If you're hoping to recycle the TV before September, I recommend contacting eAsset Solutions, the City's partner for the Recycling Extravaganza (electronics-wise, anyway). Their website is http://www.eassetsolutions.com/. Good luck, and thanks for helping the environment! --City of Falls Church Office of Communications
