George Mason Mustangs Fall to Robert E. Lee Friday Night

The George Mason Mustangs football team lost their playoff game Friday night to the Robert E. Lee "Leemen" in a 35-12 game in Staunton.

Mustang quarterback Grant Hagler, passed the ball to Alfonso Banks for a 30-yard touchdown. Lee's coach, David Tibbs, called Banks of the best players his team has faced all season, according to the local newspaper, the Staunton News Leader.

“I thought we played hard on defense besides a couple of pass plays,” Tibbs said. “They have two cats who can play," he told the newspaper.
