Olympic Athletes to Train Campers at Falls Church High Wrestling Camp
Camp begins week of July 7.
Want your child to be trained by Olympic athletes? Gold medalists as coaches? NCAA All-Americans working with your child?
You will get all of that with this impressive and growing wrestling camp hosted by Falls Church High School. This Three Style Wrestling Camp is open for registration for all rising 7th through 12th grade students and takes place July 7—11 from 8:30am—3:30pm; 5:30 pm for those training for Junior Nationals or other competition.
But why this camp? Falls Church High School’s head wrestling coach, Dustin Payne, is working with a lineup of world class athletes that can’t be beat. To name a handful of these impressive athletes:
· Derrick Waldroup-- four-time USA National Champion and Olympic athlete;

· Rodney Smith—two-time Olympian and medalist and two-time NCAA All-American;
· Floyd Winter—US Olympic Wrestling coach, US World Team Coach, All-Army Coach, and former C.I.S.M. World Freestyle & Greco Roman Champion;

· Rich Estrella—US Olympic Coach and coach of the world championship-winning US World Team;
· Phil Brown—two-time USA All-American, two-time NCAA All-American, All-Army Champion
· Chuck Africano—All-Army Champion, Olympic qualifier, NCAA champion, and assistant All-Army coach
And the list goes on with additional NCAA All-Americans and Olympians.So what’s the proof that this can help? Several of the state qualifiers for Virginia made their first appearance this year and attended this camp for the first time before their wrestling season.
Falls Church High School, under the leadership of Payne, is now in its third year hosting this camp. Several of its own athletes have gone through it and the increase in accolades the students have achieved is impressive.
One in particular, Taylor Thomas, graduating just days ago from Falls Church High School, is now a three-time district/conference champion, was a regional champion his senior year, and went on to the state finals where he took second.
He is now going on to VMI, Division 1 NCAA, where he will continue his studies and his wrestling career.
