Redskins Bench RGIII: Tell Us What You Think About The Team's Turmoil

After a five-game losing streak, do you think this is the right change to make at the right time?

And so it has come to this in the nation's capital: The Washington area survived a double-whammy of early winter weather and Congress has reached a tentative budget deal to avert another government shutdown; Nelson Mandela has been eulogized, Obamacare is on the mend, and Christmas is just two weeks away.

But what we want to know is this: What's your take on the escalating drama surrounding Redskins nation?

Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced Wednesday that he's benching star quarterback Robert Griffin III for the remaining three games of the season and starting back-up quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Shanahan told reporters that, after consulting with team owner Dan Snyder and other team officials, "At the end of the day, we felt that the best thing to do for Robert was to not play him, give Kirk an opportunity to play, so (Griffin) could go into an offseason healthy."

Watch the entire press conference by Shanahan, Griffin and Cousins following this morning's practice.

With a 3-10 record, those final three games can't revive the season. But the decision ramps up the uncertainty facing the team, which is currently last in the NFC East standings.
