Yorktown vs Stuart Volleyball Wins Game of the Week

Faceoff wins Patch's weekly National District poll

Yorktown and Stuart High School fans bolstered their volleyball teams this week, helping the Tuesday faceoff win Patch's "Game of the Week" poll for the National District

The matchup earned all votes in this week's poll, beating out Falls Church vs Edison, Mt. Vernon vs Washington-Lee, and Wakefield vs Hayfield field hockey games, respectively.

Yorktown is 9-5-1 on the season. They've yet to face Stuart, which is 9-6.

The game, which starts at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 2,  will be featured on Patch later this week.

  • Each Thursday, Patch editors will pick a handful of matchups between National District schools scheduled for the next Monday through Friday.
  • Students, parents, teachers and other community members will have five days to vote for which game should be named "Patch's Game of the Week."
  • On Monday, the game with the most votes will win special coverage.
