Five Things You Need to Know

Concerts in the Park keep on rolling in Falls Church with another tonight.

1-    Andrew and his pickers liven up tonight at 7 featuring American Roots music and Falls Church themes. Bring a blanket and picnic dinner and sit back, relax, and enjoy live entertainment from local musicians and artists. Refreshments are available for purchase from various civic organizations in the city.

2-    Rocker Sister Hazel will perform at the tonight. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $22.

3-    The City of Falls Church Farmers Market Chef Series brings local Washington, D.C. area restaurants into the market to develop recipes using local, seasonal food showcasing the bounty of the Mid-Atlantic region. The Series also highlights the importance of eating local seasonal food for the health of our environment, economy, and ourselves. This Saturday, Tracy O’Grady and Kate Jensen from Willow will be at the market.

4-    The Recreation and Parks Department is seeking volunteers to call bingo on Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center. Interested volunteers should call 703-248-5020 for more information and to sign up.

5-    If your birthday is July 12, you share it with comedian/actor Bill Cosby, fitness guru Richard Simmons, the late scientist who discovered many uses for the peanut George Washington Carver and professional wrestler Brock Lesnar. Happy birthday!
