Tuesday Update: Falls Church Power Outages

Dominion lists more than 20 work crew locations Tuesday in the Falls Church area.

Work crews from Dominion Virginia Power are scheduled to be at the following Falls Church area locations today.

"Lists are based on early morning work plans for crews. However, needs often change during a major restoration and crews stay on the move. They may visit, leave and return to some locations, and may perform work at locations not shown on today's list," according to Dominion.

"The lists do not feature specific addresses, such as customer homes. Crews are sent to specific locations to repair devices/equipment on our system that supply homes and businesses."

As of 8:30 a.m., there were still more than 2,100 Dominion Virginia Power customers without power in the City of Falls Church and 87,300 without power across the Northern Virginia region , according to the power company’s interactive outage viewer.

Dominion released a statement Tuesday morning on their website:

Power has been restored to more than 800,000 of the 1 million Dominion Virginia Power customers whose electric service was affected by a weekend of severe storms. That is equal to 86 percent of the total affected by the extreme weather, which caused the most significant damage suffered by the company outside of hurricanes.

The company expects to restore service to 90-95 percent of affected customers by Thursday night, and virtually all remaining customers by Saturday night.

The power company will release its work crews location list around 10 a.m. – check back with Patch for updates on whether utility work crews will be in the area.
