Weather: Fireworks Forecast

Fourth of July forecast: High of 95 degrees, possible thunderstorms.

The thousands of Falls Church-area residents without power or air conditioning will get no relief for the Fourth of July holiday.

Temperatures in Falls Church will hit 95 degrees on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Hazy, hot and humid" is how the Capital Weather Gang describes expected weather on the July 4th holiday. The combination of heat and humidity will create a heat index in excess of 100 degrees, the NWS report stated.

There is a 40 percent chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms. Some of the storms may be severe, according to the NWS. 

For the rest of the week — Thursday, Friday and Saturday — the days may be even hotter, hitting 98 degrees. Beginning Sunday, the Northern Virginia area will see slightly cooler temperatures with a high on Sunday of 94 degrees and a high on Monday of "just" 89 degrees.
