Spotlight: Hope in Northern Virginia

Falls Church organization provides support for pregnant women.

Mission: Hope in Northern Virginia is a nonsectarian, nonpolitical support organization for pregnant women.

"We help provide them with baby clothes and baby items such as car seats and cribs and swings and bouncy chairs, formula, diapers and wipes — things a baby uses in the first year of life," said Leah Crane, executive director.

History: Hope has been around for about 40 years and has been at its current location since 1982.

How you can help: Volunteers make start-up kits for mothers. Others use their special skills, such as graphic design or website design. And some make commitments to work at the organization's office each week, Crane said.
