Monday

The Falls Church City Council meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 300 Park Ave. See the agenda here.

Tuesday

Falls Church City Public Schools School Board Organizational and Regular Meeting, 7-10 p.m. at Chambers at City Hall.

On Tuesday, from 7–9 p.m., Library, 120 N. Virginia Avenue, Falls Church, Book Discussion Group will talk about "The Bell" by Iris Murdoch. On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from September through May, a "Great Books" discussion group meets in the Conference Room at 7 p.m. Open to all and no registration required. Navigating the World of a Special Needs Family

Back by Special Request: Financial Scams Alert! – The Fairfax County Police Department will hold a second public safety community forum on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the Mason District Governmental Center, Main Community Room, 6507 Columbia Pike in Annandale.  Police officers will advise residents about how to protect themselves from becoming victims of financial crimes, and what to do if it happens.  The most up-to-date information will be provided about this increasingly sophisticated and ever-growing area of crime.  Please RSVP to Jackeline ElMrini by calling 703-533-5701 to reserve a seat.

Friday

The Court Clerk's Office and the Sheriff's Office are each closed Friday for Lee-Jackson Day, a state holiday.

Saturday

Creative Cauldron will open its doors to the public on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday, from 12 noon to 5:30 p.m. for a series of family-friendly performing and visual arts workshops, demonstrations and free performances.  The workshops will be led by veteran members of Creative Cauldron's circle of teaching artists, along with special ethnic performers who are participating in the 2014 Passport to the World Festival Series.
