Butterfly Ballot, Turkey Trot, and Keith Urban This Weekend

Here's a look at some events going on in Fairfax County this weekend.

A regional roundup of fun things going on this weekend!

Meet ABC's 'The Chew' Chef. Enjoy a tea and cookie pairing with celebrity chef Carla Hall from ABC's The Chew. Friday at 6 p.m. Capital Teas Tea Bar and Boutique, Mosaic Shopping District, 2910 District Ave., Fairfax.

Environment Concert: the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will hold an environmentally-themed concert and lecture on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center Theater (CE Theater). The event is free and open to the public. The keynote lecture will be given by Dr. Jayant A. Sathaye, a senior scientist.

Slimming Before Trimming
. All ages welcome for the Herndon Turkey Trot 5k. Overall male and female winners win a Thanksgiving Dinner. $15 pre-registration. 4 p.m. Saturday. Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave., Herndon. See our complete list of regional Turkey Trots.

High School DramaWest Springfield High School's theater department will present "The Lady from Maxim’s" this week. Opening night is Thursday at 7 p.m. and the play runs through Sunday. There will be performance on Friday at Saturday at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.

Country Music Idol. Before he heads back to judge “American Idol,” Keith Urban will be performing at the Patriot Center. Urban has more than a decade of pop-friendly country hits under his belt, including “You’ll Think of Me” and “Somebody Like You.” From $40.50. 7 p.m. Saturday. Patriot Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax.

Good Deed, Good Tunes. Feed God Cabbage headlines the Fight Hunger Food Drive, with Poor Man’s Copyright and South Street. Canned food donations qualify for a raffle of merch and tickets. Sunshine on StageJonathan Edwards takes the stage at The Barns at Wolf Trap this weekend. Edwards is best known for his single “Sunshine (Go Away Today)” $25. 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Barns at Wolf Trap, 1635 Trap Road, Vienna. See the complete Wolf Trap schedule.

Glittering Gems and More. Catch a bit of sparkle at the 22nd annual Gem, Minerals and Fossils Show at George Mason University's Hub (Student Union Bldg. II). More than 20 dealers will be selling minerals, fossils, crystals, gems, jewelry, carvings, meteorites and more. Plus, see demonstrations and exhibitions, get some swag in the silent auction on Sunday, and enjoy door prizes and kids' activities including 'mini mines' and a 'fossil dig' for the kids. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children ages 13 to 17. Free for Scouts in uniform, GMU students and children under 12. Park and enter through Lot A on Nottoway River Lane off Braddock Road in Fairfax.
