Pastry Chef Caitlin Dysart of 2941 Restaurant is competing in The People’s Best New Pastry Chef contest.
It’s sweet when local chefs compete in national contests and bring notoriety to Falls Church. Pastry Chef Caitlin Dysart, of 2941 Restaurant, is giving it a go in the FoodandWine.com’s “The People’s Best New Pastry Chef” contest. People can vote for the 50 nominees, including Dysart, right here. Good weather in order for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Cherry Hill Park.
If you’re staying around Falls Church Easter weekend and looking for things to do, there’s plenty going on and forecasts say the weather will be great. The city’s annual Annual Easter Egg Hunt starts Saturday at 10 a.m. in Cherry Hill Park. All the kids have to bring is a basket and the egg hunt is free. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance to take pictures with the kids. Dinner will raise money for the charity that helps low income residents in Fairfax County.
The cozy confines of 2941 Restaurant will play host to a benefit wine dinner Wednesday night with local charity Our Daily Bread to raise money for the organization. For the last 29 years, the charity has focused on easing the plight of low-income residents throughout Fairfax County. Tickets for the three-course meal go for $115 each (click here for the menu) and there’s room for 60 guests. The meal begins at 6:30 p.m. “It takes an income of about $60,000 for a family of four to thrive in the Fairfax County area. Four Falls Church restaurants will take part in the Washington Metropolitan Restaurant Week beginning Monday, Feb. 4. The participating restaurants (listed below) will have dinner specials for $35.13. Some will have lunch specials for $20.13. Metropolitan Washington Restaurant week is sponsored by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington and is held several times a year.
