Police Arrest Suspect in Falls Church Library Attack

Kevin Lee Porter was at work when Fairfax County police took him into custody.

The man accused of assaulting a 17-year-old woman in a bathroom at the Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church is in police custody. Suspect Kevin Lee Porter, 31, of no fixed address, was taken into custody at his job at a restaurant in the 3000 block of Gatehouse Plaza on Tuesday afternoon. Fairfax County police charged him with abduction and he is being held at the county’s Adult Detention Center without bond. Lucy Caldwell, a spokeswoman with the county police, said police zeroed in on Porter as a suspect after investigating the case and following up leads. Police Following Leads in Falls Church Library Attack

No arrests made in November attack.

No arrests have been made but Fairfax County police are still investigating the November attack of a teenager in a Falls Church library. A 17-year-old woman was attacked in a bathroom in the Thomas Jefferson Library on Nov. 6. Police say the alleged attacker watched her study at the library for several hours. The woman allegedly kicked the man and screamed after he attacked her, leading library staff to call the police. Police released a photo of the alleged suspect days after the attack. Lucy Caldwell, a spokeswoman for Fairfax County police, said police are still aggressively working the case. “We are actively following up several leads,” Caldwell said Monday. “It’s an active investigation.” Police believe the alleged suspect is a black …
