Hurricane turned Super Storm Sandy made her way through Falls Church early in the week and topped our headlines. The storm left some Falls Church customers without power but Dominion Power restored power to the area. Some people found ways to entertain themselves while their power was out. The storm didn’t stop people from getting out and voting as some Falls Church residents made it out Monday to cast their in-person absentee ballots. A shortened practice week caused by Hurricane Sandy will not cancel high school football this week.
Hurricane Sandy may have shortened the school week in Northern Virginia, but nothing could stop the JEB Stuart and Falls Church high school football teams from battling in the annual Bell Game. With only two days to prepare for the game, Stuart Head Coach Roy Ferri said at this point of the season, they’ve already got a lot of their plays in. With both teams coming in with a 2-7 record, this game means everything.
