All dogs four months of age and older must be licensed in Fairfax County by Jan. 31. The price for a dog license is $10 for all dogs, and the license lasts for one year. License tags are free of charge to those who own dogs that are trained service dogs for the blind, deaf or mobility-impaired. Dog owners can purchase a license by mail, online or in person.
